The Director General of the State Revenue Service (SRS) Ieva Jaunzeme has appealed to the administrative district court against the punishment imposed on her – a reprimand for not initiating a disciplinary case against a SRS official. Jaunzeme calls the punishment imposed on her unjustified.
New Zealand explains that reprimanded, because she did not initiate disciplinary proceedings against a staff member who had held the hearing at a distance and not in person, as set out in the documents.
“The staff member had held a remote meeting and he had agreed with the other participants that it was acceptable, and he had done so, the meeting was held. I certainly would not have burdened the court with this appeal, but I believe that a court assessment is needed, ”says Jaunzeme.
The details of the specific case are not disclosed by the Director General of the SRS, because the case has the content of restricted access information.
