GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas – A visitor lost his life after getting lost in the current of the Guadalupe River outside the community of Seguin.
The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jason McCoy, 47, was on a family outing when his kayak capsized and he couldn’t get out of the water.
Multiple agencies went to the sector of the river located at 1100 Reiley Road after receiving an emergency call this Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m. to initiate a search, but it was not until six hours later that rescuers found McCoy’s body submerged. .
The authorities indicated that an investigation was opened as a result of the man’s death, although they added that everything seems to indicate that it was a tragic accident.
McCoy was a resident of the city of Midland, west of Texas.
