Jason Derulo is being sued for waiting for sex after signing a contract with a singer.
The artist is the subject of a complaint, filed Thursday (October 5, 23), for sexual harassment on the part of Emaza Gibson. She claims that Jason Derulo made her sign a recording contract with the intention of having sex with her.
“I have anxiety, I’m traumatized,” Emaza Gibson, 25, told NBC News. “I was faced with inhumane work situations… I came back to square one and I have nothing. »
In the complaint, obtained by Page Six, Emaza Gibson claims the Glad U Came singer made inappropriate sexual advances toward her while they were working together. The young woman indicates that she was contacted by Jason Derulo in 2021 to work with him. The contract required her to release a single featuring him, produce a mixtape within four months and complete an album within six months.
Emaza Gibson said that while she worked with Jason Derulo, he repeatedly invited her to join him at a members-only lounge for drinks and dinner. She claimed she refused to keep the relationship professional.
Emaza Gibson said she agreed to go out for drinks with the artist in September 2021 and says she was given “inappropriate amounts of alcohol,” according to the complaint.
“I told him I wasn’t a drinker… It’s like he didn’t listen to me the first time, to keep putting pressure on me,” the complainant said.
Emaza Gibson added that Jason Derulo displayed aggressive behavior in November 2021. She cited an incident in which the star introduced her to a woman named Rosa, who was intimately involved with the artist. In her complaint, Emaza Gibson claims that Jason Derulo also made her listen to his music. She said that when she told the producer that she had been “unsettled” by Rosa, Jason Derulo “lost control and began aggressively punching her armrests, yelling, ‘What does she have to do with you? We have nothing to tell you! You don’t need to know anything!” »
According to Page Six, Emaza Gibson is also suing Jason Derulo for intimidation, illegal termination and breach of contract.
