Jakarta –
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk appealed to road users who will be traveling back to Jakarta to ensure that there is adequacy e-money balance (e-toll) used before the trip.
This is because there were 12,209 vehicles with an insufficient balance at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) for the Batang-Semarang Toll Road during the D-7 to D-1 period for the 2023 Lebaran homecoming. At the Kalikangkung GT, road users pay the toll from Cikampek to Semarang.
Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head of Jasa Marga Lisye Octaviana explained, the number was 3.97% of the total 306,980 vehicles that made transactions at the Kalikangkung GT. With a lack of e-toll balance, it is necessary to top up e-toll at the toll gate. This results in a significant delay time.
“With this delay, we recorded an average decrease in the transaction capacity of the Kalikangkung toll booth at GT Kalikangkung by -5% per hour. Previously, in 1 minute, we could serve transactions of up to five vehicles, if road users lack balance and have to top up. at the toll booth, then 1 minute will only be able to serve one vehicle,” Lisye said in a written statement, quoted Monday (24/4/2023).
Lisye reminded that road users with continuous trips for reverse flow, especially from Semarang to Jakarta, must prepare an e-toll with a minimum balance of IDR 500,000. Meanwhile, road users from Surabaya are advised to prepare an e-toll with a minimum balance of IDR 800,000.
“We also remind users, especially those who travel on the Trans Java Toll Road with a closed transaction system (fare according to distance), can only use the same e-toll when tap in and tap out, so when the balance is lacking you cannot borrow e-toll. “Toll fees for other road users. For this reason, once again, ensure sufficient e-toll balances to avoid queues at the toll gates,” said Lisye.
When entering the Cikampek Main GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Jasa Marga urges road users to comply with signs and directions from officers because the slightest disturbance that occurs will have an impact on the existing traffic flow and result in a queue of vehicles.
Avoid traveling at times that are predicted to be the peak of backflow which is predicted to fall on Monday-Tuesday, April 24-25 2023, and Sunday-Monday, April 30-May 1 2023 to avoid vehicle buildup.
The government together with Jasa Marga also appealed to road users who have no urgent needs, to be able to avoid the peak of reverse flow by postponing/postponing their return trips to Jabotabek on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday (26-28 April 2023) for a more comfortable trip, while at the same time being able to take advantage of a 20% toll discount for travel from Semarang to Jakarta with an after-discount balance of IDR 297,600 which applies from Thursday 27 April 2023 at 06.00 WIB to Saturday 29 April 2023 at 06.00 WIB.
Jasa Marga again urges road users to ensure their readiness before traveling, including by ensuring the adequacy of e-toll and fuel balances, and ensuring that both the vehicle and the driver are in prime condition.
Obey the signs and directions of officers in the field and always be disciplined in the rules for driving on toll roads. Use time wisely by not lingering in rest areas and always implementing health protocols.
