Jasa Marga recorded 314,000 vehicles leaving Jakarta over the weekend before Eid al-Fitr, a 14.27% increase from normal traffic.

During the week leading up to Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri, state-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga recorded 314,000 vehicles leaving Jakarta Greater Area or Jabodetabek on 15th and 16th April 2023. This was an increase of 14.27% compared to normal traffic of 275,087 vehicles. The data was collected from observing traffic flow at four toll gates (GT) headed towards Merak, Puncak, Trans Java, and Bandung. The majority of the vehicles, 166,132 or 52.9%, headed east towards Trans Java toll road and Bandung. Jasa Marga also reported that traffic heading west towards Merak via the Cikupa Toll Gate had increased by 5.93% compared to normal traffic. Meanwhile, traffic heading south towards Puncak via Ciawi gate on Jagorawi Toll Road decreased to 64,842 vehicles, a drop of 6.92% compared to normal traffic. In comparison to Eid al-Fitr 2022, where there were 316,307 vehicles leaving Jabotabek, the traffic volume was 0.6% lower. The realization was also 7.2% lower than the traffic prediction of 338,653 vehicles.
