Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry has signed with the New Orleans Saints, he announced on Twitter on Friday.

Landry, who is from Louisiana, will sign a one-year deal with the Saints for up to $6 million, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The five-time Pro Bowl receiver had attracted interest from several teams after being fired by the Browns this season. The Baltimore Ravens are said to have had their eye on Landry, and he apparently turned down an offer to return to the Browns.

The Saints have been beefing up their receiving corps this offseason after the unit struggled mightily in 2021. The team selected former Ohio State star Chris Olave with the 11th pick in this year’s draft. Michael Thomas will also return in 2022 after missing all of last season with an ankle injury.

New Orleans didn’t have a receiver for more than 700 receiving yards last year, while running back Alvin Kamara led the team with 47 receptions.

Landry, 29, caught just 52 passes for 570 yards and two touchdowns in his final season with the Browns in 2021. The veteran wideout is a prolific slot receiver, having rushed for 7,598 yards in 688 catches during his career and catching more than 70 times in seven of his eight seasons.

The Saints are starting the new season with quarterbacks Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton.
