Jarrido sends a message to Al-Ahly before the Champions website

Spain’s Juan Carlos Garrido, coach of Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca team, has admitted to following up on Al-Ahly well, stressing that facing the Red Team will not be easy.

Garrido added in remarks carried by the Moroccan newspaper “Al-Mukhtab”: “Al-Ahly match will not be easy due to the value of the two teams on the African front.”

He continued: “The match against Al-Ahly will be very difficult. I previously worked in Egypt through Al-Ahly leadership, and personally I respect all the African and Arab teams that I worked for.”

Jarredo managed to win two championships with Al-Ahly during his presence in the season (2014-2015) after crowning the Egyptian Super at the expense of Zamalek, along with winning the African Confederation for the first time in the history of the Red Fort.

The Spanish coach faced Al-Ahly during this season, but with the coastal star team, where he led the “Jewel of the Coast” team to beat the red team with an unanswered goal in the group stage before the Egyptian champion retaliated by winning the same result in Cairo.

Al-Ahly is scheduled to meet his opponent, Wydad Casablanca, in the framework of the four rounds of the African Champions League, where the first match will be held in Morocco, with the return being held in Egypt.

On the other hand, the second party in the Champions League semi-finals will be between Zamalek and Moroccan Raja Casablanca.

It is worth noting that the Confederation of African Football (CAF), previously decided to postpone the Champions League matches indefinitely due to the new Corona virus (Covid 19).
