The Football Association of Oman announced the arrival of an experienced coach on the X social network. She signed a contract with him for the next two years. Sixty-two-year-old Šilhavý ended up on the Czech bench at the end of November last year after a successful key match for promotion to European Championship 2024. His team at the time defeated Moldova 3:0.
The sixty-two-year-old coach is also taking four former colleagues to his new place of work, he will be assisted by assistants Jiří Chytrý, Milan Veselý, fitness trainer Pavel Čvančara and analyst František Ševínský. “We knew that we wanted to continue together and that we would like to try abroad and ideally again in the national team. Oman is an exotic, interesting destination. The first impressions are great.” said Chytrý for the portal idnes.cz.
During his career as a national team coach, he managed several Czech clubs, including Jablonec, Dukla Prague, České Budějovice and Slavia Prague.
Oman also appeared at the Asian Cup, but did not progress from the basic group to the knockout stage, which cost the position of Croatian coach Branko Ivankovič. In the past, there was already one Czech coach working on the substitute team of Oman, Milan Máčala coached him in 2006-2007.
