Experienced and innovative, the Jardinerie Tarnaise of the Bousquet family has been investing, for three generations, to guarantee its know-how and its independence, but also to draw strength from it. It stands out on the territory by its unfailing energy through two stores in Albi and Castres, and soon a third in Albi as well.
To have experienced it, going out to one of the Jardinerie Tarnaise stores in Castres or Albi is a real experience. Impossible to remain unmoved in front of universes so welcoming and so well presented. Whether for indoor or outdoor plants, cut flowers, the vegetable garden, plants, the nursery or even the pet store, the general atmosphere is conducive to strolling, or even to strolling, to family outing.
Being in a business without having the feeling of being there is a bit like the feeling one has when one wanders the aisles of these garden centers. Here garden articles, planchas, barbecues; there, decoration, or even arrangements for your swimming pool.
It must be said that in Albi as in Castres, we see things in a big way, with respectively 6000 and 7000 m2 of retail space, choice and a stock well above normal so that customers (more than 400,000 come each year) find there what they cannot find elsewhere.
New brand to the south-west of Albi
Such energy, coupled with success confirmed for several years (Graine d’Or – Best Independent Brand elected in 2018-2019), prompted the company’s managers to repeat the experience. In the process of finishing work, the new Jardinerie Tarnaise brand, the third of the name, has taken up its new quarters to the south-west of Albi to offer its services to a new clientele from Gaillac and the west of the department. Its universes, always very marked, will allow customers to benefit from a very wide choice over nearly 9,000 m2 of retail space and an entrance hall that will accommodate three commercial premises including local businesses such as the restaurant “L’Épicurien”, the primeur and the bakery of an Albigensian artisan.
During this period of confinement, your garden centers are always open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and all shelves are accessible.

Management that empowers employees
Another key to the success of the Jardinerie Tarnaise is the spirit cultivated by the Bousquet family, which spreads through each of the points of sale. More than a mind, a mentality of making different passionate and responsible teams. Today 50, 80 tomorrow, the employees of the Jardinerie Tarnaise are united and loyal to the brand thanks to a management which makes each of them more autonomous. Thus, the department managers themselves select their products, visit the salons and manage their stocks. Indulge yourself to please customers, that’s a bit the credo and the mentality of the house! The third point of sale, or rather the third seed as the Jardinerie Tarnaise likes to recall, should confirm, in the coming months, this philosophy where the family is a strength and team spirit a reality.
The health crisis has accelerated trends
It is often thought, and rightly so, that when crises occur, men reveal themselves. The extraordinary period we are living with the Covid shows it, the trends observed in recent years are confirmed: there is a real desire to live more independently. Thus, the worlds of the garden and the vegetable patch have experienced, since this spring, a real boom within the company, as has the barnyard universe with no less than 4,000 laying hens sold to the Tarnaise Garden in Castres, or the Beekeeping department which has never been empty. “From seedlings to vegetable plants, including beehives, jars, berry trees … all these very fashionable articles show that people are aware that the garden, and nature more generally, can be nourishing” , justifies Guy Bousquet. “Doing it yourself, from the vegetable garden to the plate, is a trend which is not new but which, with the Covid, has seen quite a boost. The desire to be less and less dependent and to “control” what we eat, is spreading in the city as in the countryside “he continues.
