Japan’s NYK Line Signs Contract for Ammonia-Fueled Carrier with Domestic Engine Manufacturer – Latest News

    NYK Line announced on the 25th that it has signed a contract to build a 40,000 cubic meter ammonia-fueled ammonia carrier (AFMGC) equipped with a domestically produced engine. Construction is scheduled for completion in November 2026 at the Japan Marine United (JMU) Ariake Office (Kumamoto Prefecture). The main engine will be manufactured by Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG), and the auxiliary engine will be manufactured by IHI Engine.
