Bola.net – The J League made a huge contribution to the teams brought in Japan U-17 National Team for the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia.
For the 2023 U-17 World Cup, only players born after January 1 2006 and a maximum of 31 December 2008 will be allowed to take part.
Each team is allowed to bring 21 players, three of whom are goalkeepers.
Of the 21 names brought by the Japanese U-17 National Team coach, Yoshiro Moriyama, 17 of them came from Meiji Yasuda J.League teams or their youth teams.
FCTokyo was the most dominant team by sending three players. Two players came from FCTokyo U-18, Wataru Goto and Shuto Nagano, while one player came from the senior team, Ryunosuke Sato.
Sato is the only main player in this season’s J1 League team to be called up, with the other players coming from J1 League youth teams.
Even so, Sato has never appeared in the J1 League this season, he has only appeared twice in the J.League YBC Levain Cup this season, playing a total of 124 minutes.
