Japanese probe reports asteroid dust to earthlings

Japan

A Japanese probe dropped on Earth precious samples taken from a distant asteroid, which could inform us about the birth of our universe. The Hayabusa-2 probe, the size of a refrigerator, was launched in 2014 and last year sampled around 100 milligrams of particles from the asteroid Ryugu, “the dragon’s palace” in Japanese, located some 300 million kilometers from Earth.
