KAN went to the hospital last fall after experiencing abdominal pain for several weeks and was informed that he had cancer. As a result, he canceled his original tour plans. He was hospitalized in April this year and was informed in May that he had been discharged. The company mentioned that before his death, he did not give up his acting activities even though he was ill. “KAN debuted in 1987 and had a long career as a singer-songwriter for 36 years. This year, he was diagnosed with ‘Meckel’s diverticulum cancer’ and died in March. In October, he began to recuperate; even after being discharged and hospitalized repeatedly, KAN was still undergoing treatment in order to resume his performing arts activities. In October, he visited Paris, France, a place of memories where he once studied abroad, and never gave up on returning to performing arts activities until the end.”

The company finally stated: “KAN has been able to create many works in the past, and everyone who has taken care of KAN and everyone who supports him, we would like to express our sincere gratitude. The vigil and farewell ceremony will only be held by close relatives.”
