(Tokyo = Yonhap News) Correspondent Park Seong-jin = Fuji News Network (FNN) reported that the United States and Japan are coordinating the direction of joint training on the 19th as a ‘countermeasure’ against North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch. .

According to reports, Japanese Self-Defense Force fighters and US bombers will conduct joint training after checking weather conditions this afternoon.

FNN said, “It will be conducted in the airspace around Japan as a countermeasure against North Korea’s launch of an ICBM-class ballistic missile.”

According to the Chosun Central News Agency, North Korea held an ICBM ‘Hwasong-15’ launch drill the previous day under the guidance of the Missile Administration.

The Japanese government announced that an ICBM-class missile launched by North Korea into the East Sea from the western part of Pyongyang on the afternoon of the previous day fell inside its exclusive economic zone (EEZ), about 200 km west of Oshima Oshima in Hokkaido.

In this regard, Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada said, “The missile is judged to have a range of over 14,000 km,” and “the entire United States is within range.”

Even when North Korea launched a ballistic missile in November last year, the US and Japan held a joint exercise in the airspace west of Kyushu in southwestern Japan as a countermeasure, with fighter jets of the Self-Defense Forces and US bombers and fighters participating.
