Japanese Football Player Kazuyoshi Miura Joins Oliveirense for the New Season, Aims to Play until 60

Japanese football player Kazuyoshi Miura will also play for the Portuguese second division team Oliveirense in the new season. The 56-year-old forward said that he would like to play until he is 60.

He came to Portugal in February from the Japanese team FC Yokohama and still feels at a good level in terms of health and fitness. “There will come a time when I won’t be able to play anymore, but until then I want to stay motivated and I want to do what I can.” Miura was recently quoted by Nikkan Sports.

The soccer player, nicknamed King Kaz in Japan, made his debut in 1986 in the Brazilian team Santos. Later he also played in the Japanese league, Italy, Croatia and Australia. In the national team, he scored 55 goals in 89 matches.
