Japanese film series at Cineclub Sala Sazié

During the month of May, at Cineclub Sala Sazié (Central House of the University of Chile (Av. Libertador Bernardo O’higgins 1058, Santiago), there will be a film series, this time dedicated to Japanese cinema called “The Chrysanthemum and the sword: classic Japanese cinema» every Tuesday of the month, at 18:30 hrs.

During the cycle, the films will be screened: “Audition” (1999, 155 min), by Takashi Miike, “The Rite of Love and Death” (1966, 30 min), by Yukio Mishima, “Hokusai” (1953, 22 min), by Hiroshi Teshigahara, “Lady snowblood” (1973, 97 min), by Toshiya Fujita, “The alien face (Tanin no kao)” (1966, 120 min), by Hiroshi Teshigahara, and “The Tokyo Tramp ( Tokyo nagaremono)» (1966, 80 min), by Seijun Suzuki.

At the end of each function, a Cinema-Forum will be held with the public.

Founded in 1961, Cineteca of the University of Chile is the audiovisual conservation center with the longest history in our Chile. It has specialized units for research, film restoration, cataloging and documentation, as well as regular exhibitions of heritage films for educational purposes.

Admission is free and access is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not required.
