Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada (81) dies of coronavirus | NOW

Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada has died at the age of 81 from the consequences of the corona virus. A spokesman for the well-known fashion house announced this news on Sunday, reports BBC.

Takada died in the American Hospital in Paris. The fashion designer had lived in France since the 1960s.

During his career he designed more than eight thousand pieces. “He never stopped celebrating the fashion and art of living,” his spokesman said.

The Japanese is known for his colorful designs with graphic prints, often worn by celebrities such as Hailey Baldwin, Rita Ora and Dua Lipa.

Takada traveled by boat from Japan to Paris in 1965 and was the first Japanese designer to make a name for himself in France. In the 1970s he founded his label Kenzo, which he sold in 1993 to the company LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). Takada retired in 1999.
