Japanese equities are relinquishing their peak positions attained over a fortnight

TOKYO, March 30, WAM/ Japanese stock markets closed lower at the close of trading today, with limited profit-taking after rising for three consecutive sessions, reaching their highest levels in more than two weeks.

The Nikkei index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange decreased by 0.36 percent, equivalent to 100.8 points, to close at 27,782.93 points.

The broader Topix index decreased by 0.61 percent, equivalent to 12.16 points, to close at 1983.32 points.
