“Japanese Astronomer Discovers Supernova SN 2023ifx in Spiral Galaxy 21 Million Light Years Away”

The supernova is called SN 2023ifx, it was discovered by Japanese astronomer Koichi Itagaki. The object is located in a spiral galaxy, which is located at a distance of 21 million light years from Earth.

“The supernova SN 2023ifx of the second type means that the massive star runs out of nuclear “fuel” and it explodes,” the planetarium explained.
