For the next two weeks, there will be many days of rain and snow, especially in the Hokuriku area, which was affected by the earthquake, and on the Sea of Japan coast. Especially from the 7th to the 8th, the cold air will temporarily become stronger, and snow will fall in Hokuriku as well. There is a risk that the descent will be stronger.
Weather from 4th to 6th: Mostly sunny on the Pacific side
Tomorrow, the 4th, a low pressure system will develop in the east of Japan, and the area near Japan is expected to experience a winter-like pressure pattern. Snow and rain will fall from Hokkaido, Tohoku and Hokuriku to the San’in area. From Kanto to Kyushu, there will be many places with rain clouds at first, but the weather will gradually improve and many places will be sunny.
On the 5th, a trough of atmospheric pressure is expected to pass through northern Japan. Hokkaido will have high temperatures and rain, but Tohoku and Hokuriku will have periods of sunshine. It is expected to be mostly sunny from Kanto to Kyushu. It will be mostly sunny on the 6th, mainly on the Pacific side, but there will be many places on the Sea of Japan side where it will rain.
Weather from the 7th to the 10th: Cold air will flow in from the 7th to the 8th, and it will snow in the affected areas
After that, a temporary period of strong cold air is expected to flow in from the 7th to the 8th. Snow is expected to fall in the disaster-stricken areas of Hokuriku, mainly on the Sea of Japan side, but also in the plains, and in some places the snowfall is likely to be heavier.
The cold air will be at its strongest from the night of the 7th to the morning of the 8th, so it is likely that there will be snow in places on the Pacific coast, such as the Tokai and southern Kinki regions. Just in case, make sure your car is fully equipped for winter.
On the 9th, the cold air will weaken, and temperatures are likely to be above normal in many places. It rains in Hokuriku, but in areas where snow has increased, please be careful of deteriorating road conditions due to melting snow, avalanches, and snow falling from roofs. It looks like there will be some rain in the Tokai and Kinki regions on the 10th.
Weather from 11th to 16th: Rain and snow continue in Hokuriku; sunshine is warm on the Pacific side
From the 11th onwards, clouds will likely spread over Hokkaido, and snow will fall over a wide area on the 12th and 14th. Hokuriku, including the earthquake-affected areas, is expected to continue experiencing snow and rain. From Tohoku to Kyushu, there will be some rain on the 11th, but sunny days will continue over a wide area, mainly on the Pacific side.
The highest temperature will continue to be midwinter (highest temperature below 0℃) every day in Hokkaido. In Hokuriku, the temperature is around 7 degrees Celsius, and it looks like the severe cold will continue. The temperature in the Kanto region is expected to continue to be higher than average, with temperatures ranging from 12℃ to 14℃. The sunlight will make you feel warm and comfortable. Temperatures are expected to rise to around 10 to 13 degrees Celsius in the Tokai and Kinki regions, and as high as 15 degrees Celsius in Kyushu on some days.
