As the newspaper notes, the Japanese government decided to freeze the assets of six people, including Putin, as additional sanctions against Russia for invading Ukraine. The list also includes Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and former Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

In addition, Japan has imposed export restrictions against 49 Russian companies and organizations.

Sanctions, among other things, included organizations in the aircraft building and shipbuilding industries, including the Admiralty Shipyards, Irkut Corporation, Sukhoi, Kazan Helicopter Plant, UAC, USC, MiG Corporation, Tupolev.

In addition, Japan’s sanctions have affected the defense and security sectors – the list includes the Ministry of Defense, including all units in the Russian Armed Forces, the FSB, the Foreign Intelligence Service, Rosoboronexport, Oboronprom, the forensic center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Nizhny Novgorod.

Previously it was reported that EU prepares fourth package of sanctions against Russia. In the new sanctions package, in particular, they plan the expulsion of Russian diplomats and restrictions against the entourage of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
