Japan finds new variant of coronavirus | Abroad

The Japanese epidemiological institute told the Japan Times newspaper that there is no evidence yet that the new variant is highly contagious. It is still being investigated whether there are serious complaints and whether the mutation is resistant to the vaccines.

Of the four people infected, a 40-year-old man had no symptoms when he arrived but had to be admitted later with difficulty breathing. A woman of about thirty complained of a headache, a teenager had a fever, and an equally old girl had no symptoms at all. They tested positive during their quarantine at the airport.
