TOKYO, KOMPAS.com – The Japan earthquake measuring 7.4 magnitude triggered a tsunami warning on Monday (1/1/2024).
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) revealed that this earthquake hit central Japan.
The strong earthquake prompted Japanese officials to issue a tsunami warning and urge people in the area to move to higher ground.

“All residents must immediately evacuate to higher ground,” said national broadcaster NHK after the earthquake hit the Noto area in Ishikawa prefecture at around 16.10 local time (14.10 WIB).
