“Japan Deploys Fighter Jets as Chinese Aircraft Carrier Approaches Southern Taiwan”

Authority Japan has deployed fighter jets in recent days as Chinese warplanes land and take off from a Chinese aircraft carrier deployed near southern Japan and Taiwan.

It said Japanese troops mobilized two escort groups to monitor the Chinese ships and “Air Force fighter jets in response to the landing and take-off of the fighter jets on board the Shandong”.

Japan’s Defense Ministry said this was the first time the Japanese military had confirmed the Shandong operation in the Pacific Ocean through direct supervision.
