The center of the action is the Rhine promenade with stands, stages and activities. The traditional end of the evening will be the big firework display by Japanese firework masters. It is themed “The Japanese seasons in the Düsseldorf night sky”.
Japan Day has a long tradition in Düsseldorf with its large Japanese community: it is taking place for the twentieth time. According to the organizer, a quarter of all Japanese in Germany live in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia – Europe-wide there should only be more in London. Last year around 600,000 visitors attended Japan Day.
The Japan Day is organized by the City of Düsseldorf, the State Ministry for Economic Affairs, the State’s Foreign Trade Promotion Agency and the Japanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf.
