Düsseldorf. Japan Day will return to Düsseldorf in 2025 and the exact date has been set: It is May 24th.

The cultural festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from home and abroad every year and promises a diverse program with numerous highlights next year too. The successful use of the event space on the Landtag meadow has proven successful this year and will continue in 2025. The sports stage will once again be located here, where traditional Japanese sports and demonstrations will be shown.

The popular manga drawing competition will also take place again in the central library in KAP1. There are also plans to further expand the supporting program in the city around Japan Day. To round off the festival, a spectacular Japanese fireworks display will once again light up the sky above Düsseldorf in 2025 and ensure unforgettable moments.

Japan Day 2024 transformed Düsseldorf city center into a lively celebration of Japanese culture for the 21st time. Around 630,000 visitors enjoyed the varied program of dance performances, music groups, traditional martial arts and various cultural offerings. The highlight artist Higuchi Ai and the traditional Japanese fireworks impressively rounded off the festival and provided unforgettable moments.

The “Japan Business Day” as the economic program of Japan Day and the largest German-Japanese business conference will also take place again: on Monday, May 26. The event is being held in close cooperation with the organizations of the German-Japanese business network in NRW and will address current economic and technology topics with specialist presentations and experience reports from Japanese and North Rhine-Westphalian companies.
