Japan bans entry to all foreigners after detecting one case of the Omicron variant. The Japanese government announced it would ban all incoming foreign travelers for one month in a bid to prevent the Omicron variant from spreading within the country.
According to the Japan Times, a Namibian diplomat in his 30s was found to be infected with the Omicron variant when he tested positive at Narita Airport near Tokyo upon his arrival on Sunday (11/28/2021).
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida vowed to take every precaution to avoid a worst-case scenario in announcing the measures, which come just three weeks after Japan relaxed entry rules for businessmen, international students and participants in its technical internship programme.
Rule Japan prohibits entry of all foreign nationals will not affect Japanese nationals or foreigners returning to the country. But those who return from countries that have been conceded varian Omicron will be isolated in government facilities for 3-10 days.

What about the symptoms of the Omicron variant?
Doctors revealed that most patients did not experience a cough or sore throat, common symptoms of COVID-19 infection found in previous variants. COVID-19 patients infected with the Omicron variant also did not experience anosmia or loss of sense of smell. Symptoms of the Omicron variant include:

- Extreme fatigue
- Muscle ache
- Feeling unwell
In an effort to prevent the omicron variant from spreading domestically, Japan bans entry of all foreigners. This rule is effective for one month, starting November 30.
