Japan attaches great importance to the development of relations with Russia and intends to develop cooperation in various fields, said Katsunobu Kato, Secretary General of the Japanese Cabinet of Ministers.

“We still attach great importance to relations with Russia, there are no changes in this,” Kato quoted TASS.
According to him, the Japanese side intends to develop relations with Russia in such areas as the conclusion of a peace treaty, politics, economics and culture.
He noted that in cooperation, Japan will be guided by state interests.
Earlier it became known that the new Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga expressed a desire to conduct telephone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 29.
