Japan Airlines and Liverpool Football Club celebrate the grand opening of the Japan Airlines Lounge at Anfield Stadium

Officially opening hours before LFC’s first home game on August 25, the new lounge will offer a new and unique experience that combines Japanese hospitality with the excitement of English football. Reflecting the serenity and luxury of JAL service, the lounge’s design is inspired by elements of Japanese nature and architecture, reflected in the use of wood, soft lighting and clean lines with modern, contemporary furnishings.
The Japan Airlines Lounge, located in the former 1892 Hospitality premises, will be open during Liverpool FC home games.

Quote from Junko Sakihara, Deputy Vice President Customer Experience, Japan Airlines:
“We are delighted to open the Japan Airlines Lounge at Anfield, which represents an important first step in our multi-year partnership with Liverpool FC. This lounge uniquely combines Japanese hospitality with football, uniting two cultures that value tradition, excellence and community. We look forward to building a strong connection between our brands.”

The lounge’s inauguration is part of a wider partnership between Japan Airlines and Liverpool FC, which are linked by their shared commitment to people and communities. Other collaborations include the joint efforts of the LFC Foundation, which has already begun with a youth football clinic in Philadelphia during LFC’s US pre-season tour. Further programs are planned for Thailand and other regions to further strengthen the relationship between the two global brands.

At the Japan Airlines Lounge opening ceremony, Japanese cocktails such as the Yuzu Sour were served, setting the tone for an elegant evening. Guests were given a taste of the Japan Airlines Premium experience through a roving hospitality cart featuring caviar and sake. Finally, a classic Japanese pairing of whiskey and dessert was served. Personalized gifts such as engraved chopsticks and luggage tags were provided to commemorate the opening.

Together, Japan Airlines and Liverpool FC aim to inspire and connect fans and travellers around the world and build bridges between cultures, communities and people.
