Janusz Kowalski from Solidarna Polska organized a press conference in Opole. It was disturbed by supporters of the opposition, including one of the deputies.
During a press conference at Plac Wolności in Opole, Deputy Minister Janusz Kowalski referred to the position of the Polish government regarding the possibility of Poland’s vetoing the EU budget in opposition to the proposal to link the allocation of EU funds to the rule of law in the Member States.
We have an emergency situation, when the German presidency wants to take away some of Poland’s independence, it wants to take away some of its sovereignty in the field of culture or the rule of law. (…) In a situation where Poland is being blackmailed, you have to take the side of the government, which the opposition of the Left, Civic Coalition and PSL does not understand. (…) The German presidency wants to break the EU treaties. There is no consent for this. As long as Law and Justice rules, as long as Zbigniew Ziobro’s Solidarity Poland rules, there is no consent for Poland to be deprived of sovereignty
Kowalski assured.
The politician accused the opposition parties of implementing the German policy bringing immigrants from Muslim countries and those promoting the LGBT ideology to Poland. As an example of irrational EU policy towards Poland, he mentioned the power plant in Opole, which, according to Kowalski, will have to be closed in the next 20 years as a result of EU regulations, although the construction of two new units has been spent by PGE over PLN 11 billion.
Supporters of the Women’s Strike, KOD and opposition parties tried to disrupt the conference. They shouted: “Opole does not want Kowalski”, “He has betrayed the Civic Platform, he will betray Poland,” and shouted vulgar shouts at PiS. The deputy chairman of Nowoczesna, Member of Parliament Witold Zembaczyński, wanted to present Kowalski with a “bill for national treason”, which was to describe the potential losses for Poland resulting from the policy of the United Right’s government, but the deputy minister refused to accept the letter, explaining the sanitary regulations in force during the pandemic.
