According to the industrial activity trend released by the National Statistical Office, the entire industrial production in January decreased 0.6% from the previous year.
Industrial production has declined in eight months since May last year.
Production in the mining industry fell 1.6% from the previous year, and production in the service industry also decreased 0.2%, continuing the decline for the second consecutive month.
However, retail sales, which show consumption trends, increased 1.6%, showing the largest increase since August of last year.
