January-April Export and Import Volume Comparisons: Latvia, Sweden, and EU Member States

In January-April, compared to the four months of 2022, the volume of exports in Latvia, as well as in Sweden, increased by 3%.

The volume of exports increased in 23 EU member states for which information is available, the fastest increase was in Slovenia (+14%), Greece and the Czech Republic (+12% in both countries), as well as in Cyprus, Hungary and Slovakia (+11% in all countries), but the decline fixed in Belgium (-3%), Ireland (-4%) and Estonia (-7%). However, the smallest increase was in Lithuania and Finland (+1% in both countries).

In January-April, the volume of imports increased in 14 EU member states on an annual basis, the largest increase was in Ireland (+30%), the sharpest decrease was recorded in Finland (-13%), but the volume of imports remained unchanged in Bulgaria and Sweden. In Latvia, the amount of imports increased by 2%, but in Lithuania and Estonia it decreased by 3% and 10%, respectively.
