“If we had needed a justification for increased efforts in the education sector, Corona has also put its finger in the wound here”, the chairman of the district assembly, District Administrator Günther Schartz, is sure. The look at the area of school education has in part also pushed other areas into the background. That is understandable and comprehensible, continues Schartz, but the breaks in educational biographies will also come across in our adult education centers in the coming years. He is therefore pleased that, with the partners of the event, the Association of Adult Education Centers and the Transfer Agency, it has been possible to formulate a position paper with which the topic can be carried into the future. Schartz is also pleased that the General District Council Conference is behind this paper.
Recognize scope for design, use scope for design
The conference made it clear that there are options for action for rural areas, for the districts. The pandemic is certainly shifting priorities in implementation, but the topic of education remains the topic of shaping the future. “We must therefore not only provide general schools with new digital opportunities, we must not forget our adult education centers, but equate them in terms of equipment and competence. If data is the currency of the 21st century, then let us use the education data in the district, merge it and use it together with the educational institutions in the interests of rural areas, ”added the chairman. You have to work through the questions sustainably, readjust them and stay on the ball. Schartz concludes that he can imagine presenting best practices from the district and discussing them in the district day.
