Thijs Jansen hopes one day to get the first from Feyenoord. The talented goalkeeper took a penalty against Union Sint-Gillis and can look back on a fine game. Jansen did not have a bad feeling about the practice match against the Belgians.
“I think it’s nice,” responds the 20-year-old goalkeeper in conversation with RTV Rijnmond. “I think I had some good saves. There are a few things I can still improve on. At the 0-3 I may have to handle the ball differently. I always want to improve myself, not concede goals. I have good examples for that during the training sessions with Justin and Ofir.”
Bijlow is his great example and teaches him a lot during the training sessions. ”That’s great. We follow the same path, growing from youth to Feyenoord 1. He has now made it to the Dutch national team. You can only learn from that. At training you watch him a lot, how he does everything. I try to imitate some things. Choose position, how you are ready. And some things you do your own way. Such an example is great. I’m signing blind for his career.”
