Jannik Sinner’s Return to Tennis: Preparing for the US Open and Masters 1000 Tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati

Jannik Sinner has not been seen on a tennis court since the Wimbledon semi-final loss to Novak Djokovic. These have been two decidedly important weeks for the South Tyrolean, who for the first time has pushed himself among the best four of a Grand Slam. After closing his season on grass, the native of San Candido took a nice break, experiencing the preparation for the US Open in a completely different way than last year.

In fact, the number eight in the world has decided to take a few weeks off to surely recharge the batteries after so much wasted energy, but also with the aim of preparing physically as best as possible for the Masters 1000 in Toronto and Cincinnati, as well as obviously for the US Open.

Compared to last season, therefore, Sinner decided to avoid clay, despite being the defending champion from Umag. A very wise decision for Jannik, who has avoided experiencing a further change of surface and to prepare in the best possible way for three tournaments in which he starts among the favourites.

The return to the field is set for Toronto and then transfer to Cincinnati. The goal is to go as far forward as possible, to win the first 1000m of his career. It would certainly be the best possible approach to the last Grand Slam of the year where the blue’s ambitions will be very high.
