A knee injury has meant that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has yet to play this season. But now he’s getting close to making a comeback.
Today, Sweden captain Janne Andersson also spoke to the 41-year-old about a possible international return. The first collection that could be relevant is the qualifying matches for the European Championships in March.
– It is important that Zlatan recovers sooner. Here’s what it is. And if he is, we have to take it from there, Andersson says.
Are you in contact, when was the last time you spoke?
– It was actually half an hour ago, but it was the first time in a long time. We have contacts and it’s nothing strange, we have excellent contacts.
Do you see him as part of the national team if he is injury free?
– A whole and healthy Zlatan, if he gets there, who starts playing for Milan and performs. So it’s clear that he’s definitely relevant to us. The impressions he made on the group and the way he contributed was fantastic to me.
The last time Ibrahimovic was with the national team was in March 2022.
