Today, Wednesday, Janne Andersson presents the squad that will go on the national team’s January tour in 2022. After last year’s tour was canceled due to the corona pandemic, it will be the first time since 2020 that the league captain gets the chance to get to know players who “knock on the door” to The A national team.
Qatar plans were scrapped recently, instead, this year’s January tour will kick off in the Algarve, Portugal. The national team will go either on 2 or 3 January and be on site until the 13th.
Once in place, Blågult will play two matches, one of which against Finland. The opposition in the second match is currently not clear.
– We set up the January tour just as we do with collections during the qualifiers, so the players get an understanding of how we work in the national team. The step to being part of a regular collection will therefore be shorter. Therefore, this tour is an important part of our business, says Janne Andersson in a comment to the Swedish Football Association’s website.
The troupe will be presented in connection with a press conference on Wednesday, starting at 12.00.
