A 56-year-old man from Helmond was arrested after allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old girl for several months. He was a janitor at the school the victim attended. On Wednesday December 14th he was arrested at home.
Police traced the man after a Safe Home tip. The counseling and reporting center had recognized an ‘alarming’ app contact between the man and the girl.
Further investigations showed that the man had probably had sexual relations with the victim for several months. There are still no indications that the suspect also had sexual contact with other minors.
Her husband gave her music lessons at his home
According to the prosecutor, the girl was vulnerable. She attended a special education school, where the suspect worked as a janitor. The man also gave the girl music lessons at her home.
The victim’s parents and the school were notified by the police. The man was brought before a court on 16 December and appeared in court on 29 December. He has determined that he can await further investigation at liberty.
