“In December, we all wake up – suddenly we are connected, and a world has started in which we would like to live all the time. We should live in the spiritual mood of December all year round, ”says Jānis Šipkēvics. He would like this month not to be the only time of miracles, but for people to be able to break out of their daily lives and see more.
Jānis Šipkēvis admits that he is pleased with the many stories and information that the charity marathon “Give Five” updates this year to help create a more accessible environment for people with disabilities. The musician believes that a change of perspective is very necessary, because over time it will bring big changes.
“Of course, like any other person, I fall asleep in the way I treat myself and my spiritual vitality. What we are talking about this year is not just in the hands of urban planners, it is not just the responsibility of those who are building something. Our attitude forms the responsibility of the people who take the practical steps further, ”concludes Jānis Šipkēvics.
Big changes start with small jobs.
“There are people in my circle of friends who live in such an eternal household regime. They want to do something, not to be sad, but to be present, to be there, to be alert, and to react to everything that is going on around them – to make a promise to make these people easier and closer to society, ”said Jānis Šipkēvics.
The musician believes that empathy can only be learned through real contact with another person next to him: “It’s just your friend who needs something. The more we will be next to each other, the more clear, real the reasons why I want to help. It becomes much closer to reality from such a generalization. ”
The musician Jānis Šipkēvics performed the song “In Warm Light” in the glass studio “Give Five”, dedicating it to people who need light and warmth.
Everyone is invited to donate “Give Five!” in exchange for playing your favorite song on Latvian Radio 5 – Pieci.lv. Donations starting from 5 euros can be made Homepage.
