Actress Janine Bischops (79) was operated on urgently after she did not feel well with the recordings of the Ketnet series #LikeMe.

“On set I felt pressure on my chest. The nurse who was there to test us for corona did not trust it,” says Bischops, aka Valentine ‘Titin’ Jacobs in the series. “I was taken to the hospital in Titin’s dress, my makeup and all. I had taken off my wig, but the edge of my hair is being sprayed completely white. It didn’t look like it. I got two stents. The cardiologist said the next day: yesterday you looked a bit marginal.” (laughs)

It was good that they were quick, Bishops realizes. “During the lockdown I once had a blood pressure drop and I fell unconscious in the hallway at home. I don’t know how long I lay there. I woke up in a pool of blood with a large lump on my head. That’s gone, isn’t it. That was in August of last year.”

“It was a hot day then, I wanted to go to bed early to learn texts in the morning. I wanted to take a bottle of sparkling water upstairs, but it was on the floor next to me, just like my sacoche. Ever since there was a break-in, I always take it upstairs. I also remember that I ate rabbit. I love to eat rabbit, at least twice a week. But after that I don’t remember anything. In the past I have always been healthy and now I already have something wrong. That will be the age, but hey, that will be fine. My family doctor once said that I will live to be 120.”
