Obama will talk about his presidency and the work of his Obama Foundation during the meeting. The 61-year-old politician is in Europe for three events that week. He also speaks in Zurich and Berlin.
Abbring says he feels “a mixture of pride and enormous nerves”. “The only drawback is that Barack Obama was my regular answer to the question of who I would like to interview again. I will now have to come up with something new,” says the journalist and program maker.
Abbring was the presenter of the VPRO interview program for six seasons Summer guests. She received the Sonja Barend Award for her conversation with Amsterdam mayor Eberhard van der Laan. She is also editor-in-chief of the satirical programme The Evening Show with Arjen Lubach.
