Jane’s Addiction singer punches guitarist on stage, shutting down Boston concert

A very rare scene. Perry Farrell, the leader of the American metal band Jane’s Addiction, punched his guitarist Dave Navarro in the middle of a performance on the evening of Friday, September 13, while they were on stage at a concert in Boston.

In videos shared by some fans present at the concert, we see Perry Farrell, while the group was performing “Ocean Size”, becoming mad with rage and pushing the famous guitarist Dave Navarro, who does not seem to understand what is happening. After an initial physical contact, he strikes again at his guitarist who was trying to hold him back with his hand.

Overpowered by several members of their crew, Perry Farrell was quickly forcibly taken off stage and the concert immediately ended. According to the New York Postbefore the altercation, the founder of the very famous Lollapalooza festival was growling into the microphone and insulting the crowd present in Boston.

After the sound and lights went out, the three band members Dave Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins returned to the stage to apologize and say goodbye to the crowd, which was not the case with Perry Farrell. After making peace signs with their hands, the band members were cheered by the audience.

A few days ago, during a concert in New York, the performances of the group’s singer had worried the audience, to the point that some spectators had asked for a refund, questioning his state of health or his sobriety.

An altercation that disrupted the end of the concert and now raises questions about the future of the tour that is due to continue this Sunday, September 15, in Bridgeport (Connecticut). Sad news after the recent reformation of the full band, reformed after several years of hiatus, in particular due to the health problems of Dave Navarro, affected by a long Covid. Since the incident, no official statement has been made by the band or by Perry Farrell.
