Jane Fonda: I’m in remission! This is the best gift for my birthday

Jane Fonda, who has cancer, has announced she is in remission, and is “the best birthday present I’ve ever received“, write the transoceanic editions.

He also announced that he may stop chemotherapy.

The Hollywood celeb made the announcement just over three months after revealing she had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and started treatment.

In a blog post, the actress, who turns 85 on Dec. 21, wrote: “Last week the oncologist told me my cancer is in remission and I can stop the chemo… I feel so lucky, so happy. Thanks to all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts… I’m sure this played a part in the good news“.

Jane Fonda is involved in various social causes. In September, when she announced her diagnosis, she raised the question of how many Americans”they lack access to quality health caredue to insurance issues, as well as an invitation to discuss the effects fossil fuels can have on people’s health.

The ‘Adult Book’ star revealed her diagnosis on social media early last September.

So, dear friends, I have something personal that I want to share. I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and started chemotherapy“, wrote the 84-year-old actress in a post on her Instagram profile.

It is a very treatable cancer and I feel very luckyshe added.

The disease starts in the white blood cells and affects parts of the body’s immune system.

Jane Fonda admitted that, unlike many, she is privileged to be insured and have access to the best doctors and treatment.

Nearly every family in America has dealt with cancer at one time or another, and too many of them don’t have access to the quality health care I get, and that’s not fair.‘ she also wrote.

The actress shared that she has started a six-month course of chemotherapy, is tolerating the treatment well, and won’t let it interfere with her social activities.

This isn’t the first time Jane Fonda has battled cancer. In 2010, a tumor was removed from one of her breasts and she also had skin cancer.

Part of a legendary Hollywood family, she rose to prominence for both her acting and social work in the late 1960s.

The actress won two Academy Awards for her roles in 1971’s “Klut” and 1978’s “Homecoming,” BTA recalls. Among the films in which she also participated “Barbarella” and “From nine to five”, as well as in the Netflix streaming platform series “Grace and Frankie”.
