British singer Jane Birkin has had a minor stroke, but is doing well, her daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg assures.

The manager of 74-year-old Birkin announced on Tuesday that the British singer had had a minor stroke, and therefore had to cancel the American cinema film festival in Deauville. Birkin was announced to speak there at the presentation of Jane par Charlotte, the documentary her daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg made about her.
She was of course present at the presentation of her directorial debut and was able to reassure the audience. ‘I have a message from my mother. I know people are worried about her, but she’s fine,” Gainsbourg said.
Documentary Jane par Charlotte had already been screened at the Cannes Film Festival in early July, in the presence of mother and daughter. Birkin also performed at the French music festival Les Francofolies de la Rochelle in mid-July.
