After several months of forced rest, Jane Birkin is back on the front of the stage. She gave an interview to the “Parisien”, this Wednesday, January 12, where she spoke of her stroke, which occurred last August.
January month sign the great return of Jane Birkin. The singer resumed her concerts and is at the center of a documentary directed by his daughter, Charlotte Gainsbourg, entitled Jane par Charlotte, which is scheduled for release this Wednesday, January 12. In an interview at Parisian, she spoke of her period of forced rest after suffering a stroke last August.
A period of which she does not have a bad memory. “It was especially difficult for my loved ones to live with”, confides the one who has not kept any sequelae of her stroke. And to add: “Me, I knew that I was in good hands, in places that ultimately I really like. Intensive care, I know it by heart, the French public hospitals are brilliant, the nurses adorable.” A universe that she knows perfectly because of her father who “has been sick all his life”. For her health problem which occurred last summer, Jane Birkin was first treated in Nantes for more than a month, “they were great, I had more fun than at home”, assures the mother of Kate Barry, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon.

Jane Birkin: “The smell of hospitals calms me down”
The hospital is therefore not a place that frightens Jane Birkin. The latter even assures in the columns of the daily newspaper that the smell of hospitals “tranquilise”, unlike many people. “In Avicenne, my preferred hospital in Bobigny, I’m practically home. They have saved me so many times!”, she admits. After his stroke, the doctors had prescribed him a forced rest of four months. A convalescence which she took advantage of to to rest, but also for write texts and discover new artists as she had confided in the columns of Paris Match, last December.
