The demanding cabaret performance began Fabiánová rehearse in 2019, a few months before the covid pandemic broke out in the Czech Republic. It was her most demanding work project, she sang and danced one of the main roles. Little did she know that she would also be the last! “I was on the front line of those who had covid. Shortly after the premiere in December 2019, she caught something and it was terrible. At that time, it was not yet known that it was covid,” Fabiánová revealed in the program Je to venku.

“I played for a month and a half terribly ill, drugged with paralenes. Every time we finished, I lay down for three days with fevers,” Jana recalled. Spinning in a vicious circle was only stopped by the imposed lockdown, and Fabiánová hoped that she would finally get herself together. But at that moment the disease struck again. “I fell for three months, I lost a lot of weight… and then I got covid again,” she said.
And then the longer-term problems began. “It also sat on my lungs, I couldn’t catch my breath. I felt like I had no lung capacity and I had nowhere to breathe anymore,” she described, saying that it took a very long time for her condition to improve even a little. But when it seemed that things would get better, another blow of fate came. “Mom died in February. I was completely stuck, I was so terribly sad… And in my opinion, you should lick the stage when you have something to say. I decided that after two covids, I probably don’t even have the physical strength anymore,” she concluded.
