Jan took over from Lil ‘Kleine last year, who gave up after two controversial seasons. Jan is now also giving up after only one season. “I have decided not to take a seat in the famous red chair of next season The voice of Holland“, he indicates. “When I was asked by RTL as a coach last year, I gratefully made use of the opportunity that was offered to me at that time. An adventure I will not soon forget!”
Jan wants to spend his time differently: “With a view to the coming year, my 25th anniversary year, I want to plan my agenda differently. More time for my own music and especially, for myself. Ali, Anouk, Waylon, Chantal and Martijn, thanks! I’m going to enjoy the coming Friday evenings again in my familiar orange chair at FC Volendam.”

Peter van der Vorst, Content Director at RTL, is very sorry that Jan has decided to stop. “We are very sorry that Jan The voice of Holland is going to leave. With his musical background, he was a very valuable addition to the team of coaches that was already there,” he says. “Of course we respect his choice and congratulate him on his 25th anniversary. It is not yet known who will succeed Jan as coach.
