For Jan The Traitors, a game in which a large group of ‘loyal ones’ must expose a number of ‘traitors’, ‘a real world’. “It was so real. You live in a castle. Your phone is taken, you’re busy all day. You have a channel on 24 hours, minus sleeping.”
It takes a day before Jan is completely absorbed in the game. “It’s such a mindfuck,” he says. The broadcaster emphasizes that there is aftercare after the program and that he thinks that is good. “You will still receive aftercare afterwards. Then they will call you: Are you okay?” When asked by presenter Eva Jinek whether he really needed that aftercare, he said: “Yes, because you are so caught up in that pattern of the game.”
In addition to the Omroep MAX boss, presenter Pernille La Lau, TV chef Herman den Blijker and former football player Nathan Rutjes also participate in the third season of The Traitors. The program can be seen on RTL 4 from March 3.
