Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski has died – CGM.pl

Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, an outstanding Polish jazzman whose albums were published as part of the prestigious “Polish Jazz” series, died at the age of 88. The musician’s family announced his death via his Facebook profile.

It is with regret and deep pain that we inform you that Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski died today in Warsaw.

The nickname “Ptaszyn” was given to Krzysztof Komeda, born in 1936. Over the course of his nearly seven-decade career, Wróblewski has also collaborated with, among others, with Wojciech Karolak, Andrzej Trzaskowski and Andrzej Kurylewicz.

For over 50 years, the artist has hosted his own program “Three Quarters of Jazz” on Radio Trójka. The last broadcast was broadcast last night.
