The friends Stine Sofie Sørstrønen (8) and Lena Sløgedal Paulsen (10) were raped and killed in Baneheia almost 24 years ago. Jan Helge Andersen admitted that she killed the younger man, but she denies that she killed the older man.

Both the prosecution and the defense agree that the DNA evidence does not give reason to assume that two people committed the crime, as Andersen says.
